Summary
Sydani is recruiting Technical Assistants on New Vaccine Introduction to the State Primary Health Care Board for the following states.
Eligible States:
Edo
Kogi
Kwara
Cross River
Ebonyi

As the State technical assistant, you will perform the responsibilities listed below with oversight and direction from the Sydani team lead.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
Leadership, Management and Coordination
Participate and coordinate technical working group meetings and oversee the implementation and monitoring of action points.
Facilitate work-planning and budgeting for HPVV introduction in line with national and state immunization polices/strategies
Oversee engagement and coordination of all mapped stakeholders (Traditional and Religious Leaders, Schools etc) and partners
Work closely with the Executive Secretary and other state officers to monitor and implement all activities on the HPVV introduction workplan
Support the implementation of all HPVV introduction strategies in line with national and state policies/guidelines
Facilitate successful flag-off of HPV vaccines in the state
Support the review and finalization of state HPV micro plans
Support the development of training plan and facilitate capacity building of health workers.
Data Management and Learning Agenda
Conduct training of relevant stakeholders on the use of electronic data tools
Conduct training of health workers on the data collection, reporting and analysis
Train data managers on data quality assurance and data use for decision-making
Ensure monitoring and reporting of adverse events following immunization (AEFI)
Facilitate collation and reporting of relevant data on HPV vaccine introduction in the focal state
Facilitate the conduct of regular data review and analysis for AEFI
Conduct operational research to assess the impact of HPV vaccine introduction on immunization and cervical cancer outcomes
Advocacy, Communication, Social Mobilization, Community Engagement and Demand Generation
Develop and implement communication strategies to promote HPV vaccines and generate stronger community demand
Provide technical support in the identification of barriers to immunization through regular in-depth analysis of reasons for non-compliance and identify enablers to improve uptake of HPV vaccination services
Support efforts to strengthen advocacy as well as mobilize demand aimed at improving the performance of HPV vaccination activities.
Facilitate the development of community engagement strategies to improve demand for immunization.
Facilitate the development of ACSM monitoring and evaluation approach; and report templates to evaluate reach and effectiveness
Conduct regular ACSM performance review meetings
Service Delivery
Conduct training on HPV vaccine introduction across state, LGA and facility levels
Conduct supervisory visits in states
Supervise conduct of HPV vaccination in fixed and outreach sites
Support the conduct of RI intensification in the state following the New Vaccine Introduction (NVI)
Financial Management
Support development and review of budgets (in relation to HPVV introduction)
Conduct resource mapping exercise
Support the state in the development of financial monitoring tools
Conduct regular financial performance review meetings
Supply Chain and Logistics
Vaccine stock management, vaccine logistics optimization
Support the development and implementation of HPV distribution plan
Support the state in development of supply chain monitoring tools and templates
Ensure functional standard preventive and curative maintenance systems for vaccine storage
Ensure strict adherence to recommended vaccine management policies
Conduct regular supply chain performance review meetings
Conduct all other activities as assigned by the Sydani national team lead.
Person Specifications
You Have a bachelor's degree in public health or related fields
You have at least 2 years of work experience in implementing PHC and immunization activities
You have worked with the State Primary Health Care Agency in the eligible States or have very strong ties with the board
You are fluent in English and the indigenous language of the state of interest
You can take initiative, solve problems, and effectively coordinate people at different levels
You can resume urgently
